Prepping for Your Artificial Grass Installation

Once your yard is designed, you’ll need to prep your land for installation! This often includes things like making sure electric and irrigation lines are found, getting rid of existing grass and roots, and laying down a base.

A pro can help you make sure the base is laid correctly and that it’s in line with technical considerations. They’ll also help you determine whether or not you need to install a perimeter around the yard, or rodent wire in the base.

The Installation
The day has finally come! You’re locked, loaded, and ready to lay down your new yard.

It’ll be the site of many happy days spent playing with the kids, chasing the dog, and enjoying all that time spent not mowing the lawn. You’ll be the height of cool with your trendy new yard! Are you ready?

On the day of, your installation professional will cut the grass according to the specifications laid out in your yard design. Then, it’ll be laid atop the base. Make sure the grain is all headed in the same direction to make sure it looks real.

Some sheets might need to border each other, but a pro will cut it so that the seam is virtually undetectable once the sheets are laid.

The turfgrass will be sealed down at the edges with landscape staples, and the installation professional will double check that everything looks right. Voila! After cleanup, your new yard will be ready to enjoy.
